SC Plants the Seed
Event box
Building a better world starts with you and your health. This family-centered program gives children a free book, teaches children how nutritional foods factor into a healthy lifestyle, and offers adults an opportunity to learn healthy ways to prepare and store fresh fruits and vegetables. Martin Farms will be at the library selling locally grown produce. SNAP participants spending at least $5 in benefits will receive $10 worth of Healthy Bucks tokens; children attending storytime receive a free book. Presented in partnership with the South Carolina State Library, S.C. Department of Heath & Environmental Control (DHEC), S.C. Department of Social Services (DSS) and End Child Hunger SC.
