SC State Library Genealogy Assistance Request
Thank you for your interest in scheduling a genealogy research appointment. We are happy to meet with you virtually. Please review the following before submitting your request:
- All questions must be submitted in writing through the request form to ensure accuracy.
- We can help with specific questions but cannot do in-depth research or build family trees.
- We do not have access to birth or death records—please contact the SC Department of Public Health.
- Answers may not be available during the meeting; please allow a few days for follow-up.
To ensure we can provide the best assistance, please complete the form in full.
Appointment Details
- Research sessions are approximately 30 minutes and conducted via Zoom.
- Available times: Tuesday–Friday, 9:00–10:00 AM and 2:00–3:00 PM.
- For the best experience, we recommend using a computer to view the librarian’s screen during the session.
