Mark your calendar and plan to attend Read-In 2025!

More than 2000 students from across the state will gather at the South Carolina State House on Thursday, April 3rd, 2025, to celebrate reading at the 2025 South Carolina Read-In. This annual event, sponsored by the South Carolina State Library with support from the South Carolina Association of School Librarians, First Steps, and the SC Treasurer's Office, allows SC students to show legislators that kids who read succeed!

Registered groups gather in the State Library’s parking lot at 1500 Senate Street between 9:15 a.m. and 9:45 a.m. The parade to the State House begins promptly at 10:00 a.m. The route follows Senate Street to the State House. The Read-In program ends at 11:30 a.m., and groups are invited to stay at the State House until 12:30 p.m. The registration deadline is March 20th, 2025.
