Basic Spanish for Library Staff: 4 Week Refresher Series

Do you want to brush up on your Spanish skills and practice phrases that are useful in a library environment? Join us for an interactive virtual series, led by Facilities and Access Consultant Caroline Smith along with co-facilitators from REFORMA de las Carolinas, the local chapter of REFORMA: The National Association to Promote Library and Information Services to Latinos and the Spanish-Speaking.
Participants will:
- Learn library vocabulary and basic scripts
- Practice speaking Spanish
- Discuss cultural competency, outreach, and programming
- Learn about available resources
- Build confidence in using Spanish in the library--at any skill level
Attending each session in the series is recommended, but not required. Sessions will be recorded and shared privately with participants. Please join from a computer with a webcam and microphone enabled if possible.
Audience:
Due to limited space, participation is limited to library staff in South Carolina and North Carolina. All experience levels are welcome.
