Webinar: Mindful Listening for Better Communication

Communication Skills, Part 1: Mindful Listening

Everyone believes they're a good listener, in the same way that 90% of drivers consider themselves above average. But do you know anyone who is an outstanding listener? Learn to be that person, with some simple techniques to make others feel heard and to maintain listening skills even during conflict.
Audience: This class is appropriate for library staff of all levels.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Evaluate whether you are listening effectively
  2. Learn how and when to use the eight different listening styles
  3. Interpret non-verbal cues and emotional subtext

This webinar will be recorded, but due to the interactive nature of the content, participants are encouraged to view it live if possible. Connection details will emailed prior to the session. First GoToMeeting? Do a quick system check: https://link.gotomeeting.com/system-check
