Webinar: How to Complain Effectively: Influencing Change in the Workplace

Description:

Leadership Webinar Series, Part 2

Often staff complain ineffectively (commonly known as whining), but it is possible to learn how to ask for what we want more competently. To be more influential, we have to learn to get our own act together, build a support network, and make sure we know the facts. A combination of data and good interpersonal skills work better than complaining that is limited to talking instead of taking productive action.

Agenda:

  • Introduction: Why Do People Complain?
  • The Key Idea: Complaining Effectively Is Not The Same As Whining
  • How Do You Talk About the Problem?
  • Audit One’s Own Behavior First
  • The Plan: Analyze The Issue
  • Who Can Actually Fix The Problem?
  • What Do They Need To Take Action?

Outcomes:

  • Research and apply how decisions are made in your workplace.
  • Become more effective at solving problems.
  • Grow your reputation as a leader.
