Description:

Now that you are wrapping up 2019 summer learning , join us for a webinar focused on innovative summer learning strategies and programs as you plan for summer 2020 including how to engage and collaborate with community partners.  We will start with a brief discussion of summer learning, then highlight several public libraries from across the state with exemplary programs and partnerships.

Liz McChesney from Chicago Public Library will speak for 25-30 minutes about Summer Learning in general, her work with the National Summer Learning Association and the transformation that has happened within her own library around intentional learning programs.

Then Lynn McKiernan from Horry County will talk about their rebranded summer program “Summer Quest” and how they decided not to use performers but to focus instead on hands’ on STEAM learning with their kids this summer.
