10:00 a.m. Welcome and Introductions
10:15 a.m. UofSC Social Media Insights Lab - Kaitlyn Park, Manager - Housed in the School of Journalism and Mass Communications, the Social Media Insights Lab uses AI technology-powered Crimson Hexagon software to generate, visualize and interpret data on everything from consumer sentiment to crisis response. Since its launch in 2019, the lab has greatly enhanced the university’s research efforts and raised its profile as a thought-leader in social media analytics.
11:00 a.m. Podcasting 101 – Gavin Jackson, SCETV Reporter and Producer for Public Affairs and A.T. Shire, South Carolina Public Radio and Podcast Producer - Gavin and A.T. will discuss their podcast, South Carolina Lede ("lede" is the old school term for the introductory section of a news story). SC Lede is a podcast about the people and issues shaping South Carolina state politics. Each week, they break down state political news and go inside the legislative happenings that could affect you, your family, and your pocketbook. They also examine the biggest stories out of the statehouse with reporters from across the Palmetto State.
11:45 a.m. Open Discussion – this is your opportunity to ask questions of your colleagues to help you with your social media issues, projects, and challenges.
The SC Government Social Media Idea Exchange is a group for those in SC Local, State, or Federal government who are currently using or interested in using social media tools to promote and market state agency and local government services and events to the citizens of SC.
