Cooks + Books: Nurturing Children's Literature and Cooking

The State Library is excited to bring you a demonstration program of Cooks + Books from Sticky Fingers Cooking. This train-the-trainer model will show attendees how to hold a virtual program involving a chapter book and recipe preparation.

Let your favorite books come to life in the kitchen! In our Cooks + Books series, we’ll read our favorite books and cook up recipes inspired by the story within. Young chefs will spark their imaginations in this hands-on literary and culinary experience!

Sticky Fingers Cooking Presenters: 

Our wonderful chef instructor Jennifer is a teacher and a mother who is extremely passionate about working with children of all ages. She has taught, coached, and mentored students for over 17 years! Chef Jennifer adores cooking and baking with her family and friends; from homemade ravioli that melts in your mouth to fluffy blueberry pancakes on Saturday mornings, she loves it! Your young chef is in great company!

 

Our wonderful chef instructor Penny is a lover of all things food related! She studied in Paris, France at Le Cordon Bleu as well as The French Pastry School, right here in Chicago! In chef Penny's spare time, she creates customizable pastries for people with food allergies and can be found at PennysPastries.com. When not cooking for her family, you can find her traveling the world....for food!
