The Library and Kinship Care

Agenda:

The numbers of grandparents caring for grandchildren continue to increase. Circumstances may vary, but grandparents often share similar challenges and unique strengths. South Carolina is a state where grandparents raising grandchildren is very common. Join Andrea Smith and Linda Dannison in this two part training to learn about why kinship care is so common and how libraries can be not only a resource, but a support to families in this unique situation. This is a two part series. Registering for one session will register you for both.

Audience:

This program is for library staff that serve children being raised by grandparents (or another family member) or staff serving grandarents seeking assistance in kinship care.

Accessibility:

FM Auditory Assistance, large print materials, and other accessibility accommodations are available by request. If you need a reasonable accommodation in order to participate, please contact the program organizer at least two weeks in advance.
