Please join us to learn about the many South Carolina-related Military History print and digital resources available for research through the South Carolina State Library. In this webinar, you will discover numerous contemporary and historical state and federal resources, newspapers, databases, and books to assist you in your research of South Carolina military ancestors. In this webinar we will demonstrate:

  • South Carolina specific resources in the State Library collections that cover the Revolutionary War through World War II
  • State Library subscription resources available onsite including Ancestry Library Edition, Fold3, and HeritageQuest
  • how we have researched South Carolina veterans from past wars such as World War II using State Library and free online resources
  • and free online resources including Find a Grave, State and National Archives Records, and Family Search you can use to find information on soldiers and their families.

This webinar is great for researchers, educators, librarians, and anyone interested in diving a little deeper into the diverse collections and resources the State Library has to offer. In order to get the full benefit of this webinar, we recommend your applying for a South Carolina State Library card prior to the program. By doing so you will be able to follow along during the webinar and begin your research using State Library resources right away.
